Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 14 - Red and White

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs blog is Red and White. I began my first card with this beautiful die called Sophia's Heart. I mounted it to a card stock base created with my XL Circle Stackers. After I got the die onto the card base, I realized I did not want to cover it up so I added a few gems and called it good. I think this is such an elegant die.

For my diagonal easel card, I again began with Sophia's Heart, but I trimmed the inner heart circle out of the die leaving the beautiful outer border. I added a white panel below the border using my XL Circle Stackers. For the image, I die cut another circle then added a red Scallop Circle Stacker panel behind it. This adorable image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and is called Ragged Romeo. I colored them with my Copic markers keeping the color tones pretty muted. I added small pieces of the Heart Chain border to the upper corners.

For the inside of the card, I added the center portion of Sophia's Heart to an Inverted Scallop Circle Stacker. I added more Heart Chain border and a rose created with the Miniature Rose and the Medium Rose dies. I used portions of the Victorian Romance Flourish underneath the rose. The last step was to add some Iced White Viva Decor Pearl Pen accents. Finished size is 6" square. I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge at Mo's Challenge blog.

Craft a Scene Challenge 2 - Winter Theme

Today is the second challenge over at Craft a Scene and our first design team post. The theme this month is Winter.

When I think Winter scenic, I reach for my Sutter Stamps. They have a fabulous collection of winter themed stamps requiring very little work. For this scene, I started with the mountain at the top and then built the scene forward. I used Eclipse tape to mask my Elk as well as the mountains when I added the sky. The great thing about Winter scenes is the coloring; less is best. This is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Cryogen card stock. I used Copics B000 for detail work, then airbrushed B00 and B21 into the sky and around the edges. The Gulls and framing elements top and bottom are from Stampscapes. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Monthly Stamping Class

I got together with my stamping ladies yesterday and these are the cards that we made.............

For the first card, we used Cheery Lynn Designs Lattice 2 die, Fanciful Flourish and Miniature Rose. The oval was created by stacking an Oval Nesting die on top of a Scalloped Oval Nesting die and running them through my die cut machine. It gives you an oval fallout for a sentiment on the inside and the cool scalloped frame for the card front. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Another Whimsy Stamps image. This is called a Dutch Double card. The top flap flips up, the bottom ones open like doors.

And the last card features Magnolia's Tilda with Hellebores along with Cheery Lynn Designs Canadian Kaleidoscope Doily, matching Angel Wing and Heart Chain border. This is a tent fold card and will fit in a 5 x 7 envelope. A fun time was had by all, lol.

Cheery Lynn Designs Butterfly and Floral Basket

In the current issue of Rubber Stamp Madness in the Product Spotlight section you will see a wonderful article about Cheery Lynn Designs. This basket is in the article and many people have asked what dies I used to create it. I began with the largest of the XL Scalloped Coved Rectangle Nesting dies for the basket shape. I die cut 4 pieces of kraft card stock as well as 2 pieces of chipboard. I embossed the Kraft paper using my Daisy Garden XL embossing plate, then sandwiched the chipboard between the Kraft paper. This makes the basket quite sturdy. To the front panel, I added Polynesian Sails Oval. To create the oval panel in the center of the Polynesian die, I traced the fallout then cut it just a bit larger. I embossed this piece with my Diamonds and Starburst XL embossing plate.

Next came the flowers, these are a mix up of Miniature Rose, Medium Rose, Judy's Blooms and Cherry Blossoms. I added leaves created with Large Dimensional Leaves 2 and Fanciful Flourish. The last addition was the butterfly from the Exotic Butterflies Small #2 set and it's matching Small #2 Angel Wing. Finished size is 7 1/4" x 5 5/8".

SplitCoast Stampers has a "Try a New Technique" challenge each week and this weeks challenge is to make a Cascading Card. This is a fun card to make, lots of room to add embellishments. I used Cheery Lynn Designs dies to adorn my card.

Flattened this will fit in a 5 x 7 envelope. Dies used: Two of Hearts, Anastasia Border, Fanciful Flourish, Olive Branches, Miniature Rose and Heart within my Heart.

Valentine Hearts

Here is a very quick and elegant card I made as a store sample for Sweet Stamps. To my red cardstock base, I added a gold mirror card panel embossed with the Romantic cut and emboss folder. Then I added hearts die cut using Cheery Lynn Designs Two of Hearts. Time to create, 10 minutes but oh so beautiful!

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 13 - Sweethearts

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs blog is Sweethearts. On the bottom panel of my card I used Antique Linen Distress ink directly on the Hearts and Leaves embossing plate before embossing to give a more vintage feel. This meant that I used the debossed side of the paper. The top panel I embossed Petite Hearts so the hearts are raised. The border across the center is the new Queen Anne's Lace. After die cutting the Celtic Heart, I debossed the center fall out the same way I did the bottom panel. I popped it up on the card for some dimension. Using Miniature Rose, Medium Rose and Large Rose to create my rose, I then added a bit of Carmel Creative Inspirations Paint to give it a warm tint and more sparkle. I was going for a very vintage mono-chromatic look. I think it is kind of classy! Finished size is 5.5" square.

The challenge over at Just Magnolia and Hanglar & Stanglar is to use a door or window on your card. Well this gave me the perfect opportunity to use my new Cheery Lynn Designs Screen Door w/dog. Dog, you say!!??; thought it was a Cat. They slipped in a second version for all those dog lovers out there. And being the owner of both a dog and a cat, of course I had to have both styles, lol. I began with a square card base to which I added a piece of gingham paper from the Generations 6x6 paper pack by Simple Stories. Next I die cut my door out of the same card stock as the card base. I laid the door on my card stock and traced around it; then cut inside the lines by about 1/8th of an inch. I added the screen to my door (the die comes with 2 pieces of screen) then attached it to the front of the card. I die cut another door from the wrong side of my card stock and adhered it to the inside of the card. I added another piece of patterned card stock from the paper pack to the inside of the card.

Using black card stock, I die cut the dog as well as the hardware on the door. Using more paper from the Generations collection, I die cut Cheery Lynn's Victorian Picket Fence, adding part to each side of the door. I also placed a bit of Cheery Lynn's Grass Border at the base of the fence. The Home Sweet Home is from one of the papers in the pack, I just trimmed out the words. I stamped this adorable Hanglar boy with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Cryogen paper. Copics used:

I added a silver gem for the door knob, a bit of black Glaze pen for nails on the door and that was it. Finished size is 6" square.

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 12 - Dry Embossing

This week's challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is Dry Embossing. Cheery Lynn Designs has a wonderful assortment of embossing plates and grunge plates available. For my card, I began with a base of Violette Curious Metallic card stock die cut using my Scalloped Oval Lg Stacker. I added an Cryogen metallic layer embossed with my Hearts and Rose Leaves embossing plate. The great thing about these plates is their size. They are a whopping 5 5/8 x 7 3/4 " so you can easily emboss a 5 x 7 card or even a panel for a 6" square card. Next came the center layers, first the Violette Scalloped Circle Large Stacker and then the Cryogen Circle Silver Stacker embossed with my Flutter Bys embossing plate.

On to the flowers, aren't they just gorgeous. I love being able to create such beauties using dies and not having to add pre-made flowers and hope the colors match. I began with the center Violette rose, this time using text weight metallic paper. I layered petals from Miniature Rose, Medium Rose, and Large Rose dies for this one; dry embossing from the back so the petals are softly curved. For the Amethyst roses, I used Miniature Rose and Medium Rose. Next came the two tone roses, I was inspired by the roses on Bonnie B's challenge entry a few weeks ago, I love the use of two papers. For these roses, I used Cuties 2, just glueing half of each die cut together as shown in my tutorial. For the final roses, I used Cuties 3, solid colors this time. I tucked in some leaves from Dimensional Large Leaves 2 as well as a bit of leaf and swirl from Fanciful Flourish. The last step was to add two butterflies from the Exotic Butterfly Small die set. I added a few beads of Lilac Viva Decor Pearl pen to their bodies. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Valentines with Tilda and Cheery Lynn

Here is a cute card I made with Tilda with Christmas Baked from the Sweet Christmas Dreams collection. The baked cookies are hearts so she is perfect for a Valentines card. I stamped Tilda with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Cryogen paper.

I used my Cheery Lynn Designs Scandinavian Hearts frame to showcase Tilda. To create the white background panel, I embossed my card stock with Cheery Lynn's Hearts and Rose Leaves XL embossing plate. I created the roses using the Miniature Rose, Medium Rose and Large Rose dies. I added a couple of Olive Branches to finish it off.

For the inside of the card, I used my Cheery Lynn Lace Edger. Notice it is the same pattern as the frame, but this is an edger. It does not cut a border piece, rather just adds the decorative cut along the edge of your card stock. Finished size is 6" square.

When I saw this adorable limited edition Koala Hug Tilda from Magnolia stamps, I knew she would pair up perfectly with my Cheery Lynn Designs Aussie Kangaroo Doily. How cute are they together? When I die cut the doily I got these adorable little kangaroo drop outs which I used to make the border across the bottom. I die cut the doily twice, once out of Kraft paper and once out of the DP. Then mounted them on top of each other to make the doily a little more substantial and then inserted the Kraft kangaroos back into the doily. I stamped Tilda with Memento Tuxedo black onto Cryogen paper.

Hair - E23, E25, E27
Dress and Hatband - YG91, YG93 (after I colored her and then searched for paper, I realized the greens I chose were too gray so I added Y04 on top to give them more of a yellow cast)

To finish the inside of the card, I added the newly released Francesca border and the last two drop out kangaroos. The DP is from the Basic Grey Green at Heart 6x6 pad. Finished size is 6" square.

Well, we finally got some snow this week in Michigan, yeah! So this week's challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is perfect..............

Cheery Lynn Designs has a wonderful assortment of snowflakes available.

For my card, I layered Snowflake 7 on top of Snowflake 4, using pop dots for lots of dimension. I also used the gorgeous Snowflake Flurries XL embossing plate for my background. I embossed Core'dinations color-core paper and then sanded the raised embossing so the core color shows through. The frames is the newly released Dutch Doily Rectangle Frame, the image is called Winter Fairy from Whimsy stamps. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo black ink, then colored her with Copics. I added Sparkly Fluff to her coat, boots and earmuffs. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Craft a Scene Design Team

This is a very quick Photoscape I created using Stampscapes Lakeside Cabin. This stamp is the reason I became a scenic stamper. I printed my sky on to Staples Photo Plus paper, then stamped my scene using Marvy Matchable Black ink. I added a bit of color to the cabin with a Tombow marker. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

I am quite excited to announce that I have been invited to join the new Craft A Scene design team. I have always loved scenic stamping and now I will have a reason to get those stamps inky each month. I hope you will join us in the monthly challenges. It will be great fun!

Cheery Lynn Designs January New Release

Cheery Lynn Designs is releasing some fabulous new dies today. Be sure to visit the design team blog to see what the rest of the ladies have created for you; some pretty awesome stuff!!

For my first card, I used the new French Lattice small frame that I adhered to a white background which I first embossed with my Petite Hearts XL Embossing plate. To fit my A6 size card, I cut the lattice across the center and added the new Country Girl border in the opening. I used the new Cuties 4 to create the red flower below my pink rose, which was created with my Large Rose die. The finishing touches are the Tropical Flourish and the lovely Celtic Heart.

For my second card, I created a center step card to highlight the new Swedish Spring Oval die. I love this die and it cuts so easily! I created the rose using my Cuties 3 die layering it on top of Cherry Blossoms. I added Flower Chain Border on each side and then used one of the flowers as a slider on my ribbon. The adorable image is from Whimsy Stamps, she is called Wee Florist.

I finished the inside of the card using the same dies as on the face of the card. Finished size is 6" square.

Cheery Lynn Designs Cuties

I have had several people ask me how I use the Cheery Lynn Designs Cutie dies so I thought I would do a picture tutorial. But first, here is a card I created; all 3 of the roses were done with Cutie dies.

Most important for creating roses is the paper you use. I like to use text weight paper, in particular metallic because I love the shimmer. I get mine from CutCardStock.com You can also use light weight card stock, the lighter the better.

Step 1: Die cut your Cutie, cut it in half then glue the halves together; right sides up staggering the petals. Be sure to keep your glue only on the bottom edge; you don't want any glue on your petals. It should look like this. Notice there is only one layer of paper on the right hand side, this is important. Let dry thoroughly (very important)

Step 2: Slide a quilling tool up the center of the first petal on the right. The good side of the die cut is still facing up

Step 3: Use you finger nail to wrap the end of the paper around the quilling tool and start rolling the flower up; you are rolling to the left or towards you so the good side of the die cut is on the inside. If your bottom edge starts to buckle, you did not let the glue dry enough. Watch the petals as you roll; tuck the edges under as you go and try to keep the bottom even. If it starts to walk down the quilling tool, just use your finger nail to push it back even. When you get to the end, just add a bit of glue to secure the end. Do not get glue on the petals, only on the bottom edge.

Step 4: Start peeling the petals down, working slowly around the flower. As you work, you can add some curl to the petals as you go but that is optional. And here is what the finished flower should look like. I used Cuties 2 in this example.

I prefer to work with just half a die when rolling; it keeps the base of the flower small enough to work with. I used Cheery Lynn Designs Cherry Blossoms under the Cuties on my card. I also used Olive Branches, Scandinavian Heart frame and Scallop Circle XL Stackers to complete the card. The adorable image is from Whimsy Stamps. Finished size is 6" square. Cheery Lynn Designs Beautiful Borders challenge

I know many people in the States are wishing for Spring (not me, I love snow) But here is a Spring themed card I did for this week's Cheery Lynn Designs Beautiful Borders challenge. I began with Japanese Lace Pattern frame, but instead of die cutting it, I embossed the detail as a background for my flowers. I arranged my Olive Branches and then added flowers created with the new Miniature Rose die. The white border is the fabulous Ribbon Eyelet Border with Piercings. I threaded a piece of yellow card stock through the border but first I added textured with my Rectangle Stitcher Plate. I think it makes it look like woven ribbon. The finishing touch was adding the green Anastasia Border across the bottom. It is such an elegant border. I computer generated the saying. Finished size is 6" square.

Valentines with Cheery Lynn Designs dies

Now that the Winter holidays are over, we have to start thinking of Valentines Day. Here is an elegant card I made using one stamp and several Cheery Lynn Designs dies. I began with my Petite Hearts XL Embossing plate. This card is 5 x 7 inches but I was able to emboss the entire background panel with no seams as the embossing plate is 5 7/8 x 7 1/2 inches. To that I added the new Sweetheart Frame. It is just so delicate and beautiful and if you are into confetti, it does some great little heart cutouts. This frame is just one of the creations from Cheery Lynn Designs new designer, Monica Björk.

For the center of the frame, I stacked the new Two of Hearts dies. Both of them come in the same package. Check out how beautifully they cut and the lovely piercings in the center of the dies. You can also see the embossed heart background in this picture. The last step was the very delicate Heart Chain border across the bottom of the card. The sentiment is from Great Impressions, stamped with VersaFine Satin Red. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

For my card, I used French Flair XL Stackers and the coordinating Silver French Flair Stackers for this wonderful stamp called Let it Snow. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Cryogen paper; coloring with my Copics. I added Sparkly Fluff to her hat, coat and boots. I used Anastasia Border, Snowflakes and Laced Pine Snowflake to finish off the card. Finished size is 6" square.

The sentiment is from Lily of the Valley; I die cut it out with my Scallop Window Stacker. I added some yellow Viva Decor Pearl pen accents to the flowers and I was done. I used a flash when taking this picture so you can see both the sparkle from the Cryogen paper as well as the shine from the Viva Decor Glass Effect clear gel on the berries. This is a very simple card using 3 stamps, B-539 Thank You Sq. Sm, E-520 Holly Sq. Lg., and E-558 Holly Strip I stamped each of them with Memento Tuxedo black ink and then added color with my Copic pens. The large holly is 3 layers popped up with Scotch Mounting Tape. The Thank You has 2 layers. I love the clean lines and simplicity of this card. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

I am filling in again for Marley this week at Cheery Lynn Designs blog, we wish her a speedy recovery. For my card today, I started with this great paper from the Basic Grey Wassail collection. I created a card base of 5.75 inches and then using my Scalloped Rectangle Card Maker dies, I created the a couple of panels. I added Border Carnivale and a French Pastry Doily and then went in search of something to put in the middle. This circle sentiment from Just Rite Stampers fit perfectly. I die cut it out with my Little Stacker Circle Nesting die. Next came the flowers created from Miniature Rose and Medium Rose dies, Holly Lace Flourish and Leaf. The final step was to add some Viva Decor Pearl Pen accents.

For my card I began with this adorable digi image called Penguin's Sleigh Ride. Using Adobe Photoshop Elements, I added a gradient background before printing it onto Cryogen paper. I used Copics, Sparkly Fluff, white gel pen and silver gel pen to color the image. I created the card shape using my Scallop Coved Rectangle Stacker, and coordinating Silver Coved Rectangle Stacker. I added my Kiwi Oval Frame around the image, adding some die cut Snowflakes To the inside panel, I added Anastasia Border. The last step was some Iced White Viva Decor Pearl pen accents. This will fit perfectly into a 5 x 7 envelope.

Cheery Lynn Designs Floral Heart Card

Today is the last day to enter the Flowers challenge over on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog for a chance to win a $20 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs. So with that in mind I decided to create some roses using the new Rose dies.

Not really knowing what I was going to make, I first created 4 roses using the Miniature Rose, Medium Rose and Large Rose dies. Then I used Judy's Blooms and Cherry Blossoms to add more layers to the flowers.

I added Sweetheart Frame to the card front and then the flourish ends from the Victorian Romance Flourish. At this point I realized I had too many flowers, trying to add more than one made it look really cluttered. To create the rose in the center of this flower, I used all 3 dies. I wanted it to be really full as it was the main focal point for the card. Have you watched the video on Cheery Lynn Designs website that shows you how to create the center to make the rose more realistic? I found I had better luck if I glued the layers down staggered one on top of each other, then put the brad through it before shaping my rose. That way I did not have to deal with the brad moving while I was gluing the petals, nor did my layers try to spin around.

In the picture above, the rose in the center is made with Miniature Rose, the one on the left is Medium Rose as is the one on the base of the card. I got better the more I made. I found that curling the edges of the petals added quite a bit to the roses. To finish the base, I added two Anastasia borders above and below my Ribbon Eyelet Border w/piercing. The last step was to add the Happy Birthday Peel Off stickers to a panel cut with my Scalloped Oval Little Stackers die. Finished size is 5.5 inches square.

I started by stamping C-280 Christmas, C-291 Greetings and E-520 Holly Sq. Lg; heat embossing them all with gold embossing powder. I used a punch to remove the little tree from the greetings, lining up and layering the red and green panels. The holly background is a Sizzix embossing folder. I added Topaz Swarovski Crystals to the lace ribbon. All of the papers are metallic and have a lovely sparkle that does not show up in the picture. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 6 - Flowers

This week's challenge on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog is Flowers, you must use dies to make them. For my card, I used the new Cuties 3, Poinsettia 2, Holly Lace Flourish, English Tea Party Doily, Small Dimensional Leaves 2, Large Dimensional Leaves 2 , Circles and Scalloped Circle Little Stackers Nesting dies.

Check out the closeup of the flowers, aren't they beautiful. I used a quilling tool to wind the Cuties up. After die cutting the Poinsettia's, I dry embossed the backs of the petals to give them a rounded effect. And look at all the detailing on the Dimensional leaves.

The DP is from Little Yellow Bicycle, the sentiment is from Lily of the Valley Rubber Stamps. Finished size is 6" square. Merry and Bright

Here is a merry and bright card I made using the new French Flair Doily Stackers. This is a beautiful die set. I started with the largest die in the set and cut a silver metallic panel. For the next middle size, I die cut using blue card stock. And for the center panel, I again used silver metallic. I mounted all 3 panels onto a hand trimmed white card stock base. I stamped the image onto Cryogen white metallic paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink. After coloring with my Copic markers, I trimmed the image out, popping it up with dimensional tape. I added some Sparkly Fluff to the muff and hat.

For the flowers I used the new Miniature Rose, Medium Rose and Large Rose dies. I staggered the dies for a really full flower. I also dry embossed the petals to give them some roundness. Again using the silver metallic paper, I added some Olive Branches. The sentiment is from Lily of the Valley, I used my Circle Little Stackers for the blue panel. Finished size is 6 inches.

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 5 - Silver and Gold

I made this card on Sunday for this weeks Silver and Gold challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs blog and then forgot to post it. So better late than never..............

I began by creating a window frame using my XL square stackers. I added some window panes by adding a piece of Lattice 2 behind the frame. For the siding look on my card, I used Coredinations paper and added texture with my Big Weaver Plate, sanding the raised areas. I used gold mirror card and red card stock for the Ornamental Wreath and Bow. Using my Oval Little Stackers I created the panel for my sentiment.

For the inside of the card, I die cut Elegant Evergreen out of silver mirror card, backing it with some red card stock. I added Border Carnivale below the tree and Anastasia Border along the top of the card. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I wish mirror card would photograph better as this is really quite spectacular in real life. Here is a tip, if you click on the image for a larger size and it comes up with the new Blogger slideshow window; you can right click on the image and choose View Image. This will take you to a new browser window where you can click on the image for an even larger view. The details from the dies on the mirror card are beautiful.

I started by stamping J-429 Bubble Background onto red and gold card stock. I trimmed the outer area off the red piece and the outer two areas off the gold piece. Using Scotch Mounting Tape I layered the gold panel over the red panel. Next I stamped F-476 Ornament Tree onto green card stock and Cryogen card stock. Trimming both of them out, I also trimmed the outer border from the Cryogen tree. Again using the mounting tape, I added the green tree to my tag base, then attached the Cryogen tree to the green panel (I did not pop this one up) I colored the tree and ornaments with Copic markers, added a ribbon and it was complete. Cheery Lynn Designs Oval card

One of the great things about Cheery Lynn Designs LG Stackers Nesting dies is the size of them. You can use the larger sizes to make card bases and yet they will fit the smaller die cut machines.

For my card today, I used the next to the largest of the dies in the Scalloped Oval Lg Stacker Nesting dies set. It measures about 6.5 x 4.75 inches, perfect for a 5x7 envelope. I used the coordinating Silver Oval Stackers for the holly background paper. I added a Polynesian Sails Oval to showcase this adorable image from Karen's Doodles. I added a gold hanger suspended from two Olive Branches.

I finished the inside of the card by adding more paper and another Polynesian Sails Oval. The DP is from the Graphic 45 Christmas Past collection. Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 4 - Shaped Card

This week our challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is to make a Shaped Card. For my card I started with my Scalloped Circle Large Stacker Nesting Dies and the coordinating Circle Large Silver Stackers, I used my Holly XL Embossing Plate to add texture to the background panel. Next I stacked a couple of the silver dies to create a wreath base. To this I added Olive Branches and Pine Branches about 2/3 of the way around.

Next I die cut a bow from the Ornamental Wreath & Bow set. I computer generated the sentiment, trimmed it out and backed it with another scalloped circle panel. To the center I added a flower created with my Cherry Blossom dies. Finished size is 5 5/8".

I stamped J-643 Poinsettia Topper Lg and H-644 Poinsettia Topper Sm onto red vellum, heat embossing with gold embossing powder. I trimmed the poinsettias out and added them to the top of my ornament. For some added bling I put a poinsettia peel off sticker on the bottom of the ornament and added some glitter inside. These make great holiday keepsakes.

Cheery Lynn Designs Cuties

Part of the November new release dies from Cheery Lynn Designs was their new Cuties, three different dies to make your own flowers. They are so much fun! I have found that they work best with light weight card stock or text weight paper. To get the results you see here, die cut one Cutie. Cut it in half then glue just along the bottom, layering them so the petals are staggered. Roll them up with a quilling tool; gluing down the end. Then simply peel back the petals to create your flower. Check out the new Nautical Wheeler Doily, it makes a fabulous base for the image from Bugaboo Stamps and the flowers. I added Holly Lace Flourish as well as Olive Branches to finish it off.

Click on the photo on the left for a better look at the gorgeous flowers. Starting from the top, I used Cuties 2, 2 and 3. I layered the roses onto Cheery Blossoms cut from coordinating DP, bending the petals for added dimension. .Finished size is 6" square.

This week our challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is Red and Green. For my card I used this adorable Nellie Snellen stamp. I stamped her onto Cryogen paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink.

I added Sparkly Fluff to the fuzzy parts of the image and Sakura white Glaze pen to the snowflakes. I used Polynesian Sails Oval to frame the image; adding some Viva Decor Pearl pen accents.

With the Polynesian Sails Oval you get a medallion from the inside of the frame. I used that on the inside of the card, adding Snowflake 5 and then just the inside of Snowflake 2. I also added Tiffany Border across the middle piece. The last step was to add more Pearl pen accents and some gems. The great DP is from the Wonder & Wishes collection by Little Yellow Bicycle. I love how festive it is. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

For my card I started with this great paper from the Jillibean Soup, Christmas Eve Chowder. I stamped E-336 Wreath Square Lg. onto Cryogen paper with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I added a big button at the top to hold the card closed.

For the inside, I stamped E-345 Tis the... and B-337 Wreath Square Sm. again on Cryogen paper with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with my Copics. I added lots of Viva Decor Pearl pen accents (they are 20% off right now!) Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Holiday cards

Yesterday was stamp class with my ladies, hi, girls! We missed you Elaine. Here are two very quick but elegant holiday cards we made using Marianne Designs emboss and cut folders and Cheery Lynn Designs dies.

This uses Marianne's Classic cut and emboss folder along with Cheery Lynn Designs Ornamental Wreath and Bow. The card base is Cryogen paper so it has a beautiful shimmer. I added a red panel behind the front of the card and some Stickles to complete the card. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

This card uses Marianne's Romantic cut and emboss folder along with Cheery Lynn Designs Poinsettia 2 die. I dry embossed the backs of the poinsettia to give it a curved look. The embossed panel is gold mirror card which does not photograph well at all. It is pretty impressive in real life. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Cheery Lynn Designs November Release

Cheery Lynn Designs is releasing some fabulous new dies today and the design team has created some amazing projects for you over on the team blog. I have several projects for you today.

For this card I used the new Celtic Oval Frame for Tilda to perch on. The flourishes around the flowers come in the center of the Celtic Oval Frame. I added a border using my Tiffany Border die.

To make the beautiful flowers I used the new Miniature Rose die, I love this die, it cuts 6 flowers and a base. I added the smallest Cherry Blossom under my roses.

I used the Celtic Oval Frame on the inside of the card for the sentiment as well. The DP is from Authentique. Finished size is 6" square.

For my next project, I used my Heart to Heart Doily dies to make a basket. I added some flowers created with the oh so fun Stacker Flowers.

And then I added the new Hearts D'Vine border die along the basket sides and the new Tangled Hearts border die on the handle.

For this card I used the new Garden of Love die; I paper pieced the word Love, then added some color in the flowers and heart with my Copic markers. The flower is a combination of Sweet Williams, Cherry Blossom and the new Miniature Rose. The background is embossed with the Hearts and Rose Leaves XL Embossing plate. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Yesterday I posted a card on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog for this week's Autumn Challenge. The card was created with my Scallop French Flair XL Stacker die for the card base, followed by it's matching Silver Stacker.

I made all of the flowers on this card using text weight Stardreams metallic paper and the three new Cuties dies from Cheery Lynn. I die cut each Cutie twice, gluing them together along the bottom, staggering the petals. Then I wound them up using my Quilling tool; glued down the end and then folded down the petals. I added some Olive Branches to complete the card. The adorable kitty is from Mo's Digital Pencil. Finished size is 6" square.

Holiday Gift Card

With the holidays fast approaching, I thought I would make a gift card today using my Cheery Lynn Designs dies.

I started with a piece of card stock, 5 7/8 x 11 3/4, scoring at 1 inch and 5 7/8 inches. This card folds up instead of down. I added this great DP from the Little Yellow Bicycle Wonder & Wishes collection. To the front I added my French Pastry Doily as well as Border Carnivale. The border piece across the top is actually a flap that closes the card. When opened, it reveals the gift card.

To the inside I added my English Tea Party Doily. You can see the pocket created from folding up on the 1 inch score line. The adorable images are from Nellie Snellen, stamped on Cryogen paper and colored with Copics. I added lots of Viva Decor Pearl pen accents as well as Sparkly Fluff. A very fun gift card! Finished size is 6" square.

Thanksgiving and Cheery Lynn Designs

I think Thanksgiving gets lost in between Halloween and Christmas and it was always a favorite holiday of mine as a child. The smell of pumpkin pie and turkey; all the cousins you only see on holidays; great family memories. I could not resist this adorable image from Mo's Digital Pencil called The Big One. Cheery Lynn Designs released two new XL embossing plates in October, I used Thanksgiving for the background on the front of my card. After embossing my card stock, I added Distress inks to enhance the embossing. I used my new Doily Circle Stackers for the panel behind the image.

The card was created using my French Flair Stackers, Scalloped and Silver Nesting dies; they makes it so easy to layer all the panels. This card is 5 5/8" when folded flat and will fit perfectly in a 6" envelope.

For the background of the inside, I used the new Pumpkin Patch XL embossing plate, again using Distress ink. I added Border Carnivale , the sentiment which I computer generated and the final touch was some Viva Decor Pearl pen accents.

I used my Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry Doily die to cut the circle behind the flower. The last step was the Viva Decor Pearl pen accents in the corners. Finished size is 5.5" square.

Holiday Tri Shutter card

For my Cheery Lynn Designs project today, I created a tri-shutter card. It folds up to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. All of the DP is from the Bo Bunny Blitzen 6x6 paper pack. On the front I started with an Elegant Evergreen die, dressed up with some gold and red Viva Decor Pearl pen accents. I added pieces of the new Holly Flourish in the corners (notice the little red berries I added with my pearl pen)

For the center panel, I added more Holly Flourish and berries; then hung an ornament made with Decoration 1, backing it with the center portion of Geometric Snowflake. I added Snowflake 7 on the bottom panel, trimming the edges.

I added Zig-Zag Ric-Rac to the small panels, it mimics part of the pattern in the paper. The final step was to add a sentiment to a Scalloped Coved Rectangle Little Stackers panel, adding some gold pearl pen accents.

I began with this wonderful new Christmas Joy 6x6 paper pad from First Edition. It has some fabulous papers, glitter and non-glitter. I created the card then stamped and heat embossed Tree Lace, Holly Sprig Large and Holiday Sparkles with Medieval Metals embossing powder. I created the frame around the tree by stacking an Oval XL Stackers Nesting die on top of a Scalloped Oval XL Stackers Nesting die. The last step was some gold Viva Decor Pearl pen accents. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Outlines Monday Challenge 23 - Pretty in PInk

(This is much prettier in real life, it does not photograph well) For my card, I started with this great paper from the Bo Bunny Gabrielle 6x6 paper pad. For those of you who know me, this peachy pink is about as close as I will get to pink, lol. I stamped E-332 Ornament Square Lg., C-432 Christmas Blessings, and B-333 Ornament Square Sm. with Shades In the Pink dye ink, heat embossing with clear embossing powder. I cut the center panel out of the large ornament, mounting both pieces on brown card stock and then used Scotch Mounting Tape to pop up the layers. I also popped up the sentiment. I trimmed the smaller ornament out, created a hook from some silver wire then mounted it to the card with a brad. The ornament swings freely on the card. The last step was to add some light green Viva Decor Pearl pen accents. Not your traditional Christmas colors but still a pretty card. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Tucked Tilda Easel Card

Another card using one of the new Magnolia Sweet Christmas Dreams stamps, this one is called Tucked Tilda. She is one of my favorites. I stamped Tilda with Memento Tuxedo black into onto Cryogen paper. Copics used:

The frame around Tilda was created with the new Cheery Lynn Designs Doily Stacker Circles. I used a Scalloped Circle Stacker to cut out the center. Then using a piece of red card stock and two sided tape, I centered the same Scalloped Circle Stacker in the middle of a Silver Circle Stacker to create the little red frame. I wanted this wonderful musical holly paper to show through the center of the circles. It is too pretty to cover up. The flowers were made using Cheery Lynn's Poinsettia 2 die adding some of the new Olive Branch dies as well. I dry embossed the flowers to give them a rounded look. Then I added some Viva Decor Pearl Pen accents to the flowers, the corners and the frame. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. All of the DP is also from Magnolia Rubber stamps and available locally at Sweet Stamps in Fowlerville, MI. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Magnolia Down Under Sketch Challenge

The Magnolia Down Under Challenge this week is a sketch; a fun one too!

My local stamp store, Sweet Stamps just got the new Magnolia Sweet Christmas Collection in and of course I had to stop and check them out. This cutie is called Tilda with Cross-stitched Heart. All of the DP is from Magnolia and also available at the store, isn't it fabulous! I will have the store open the next 4 weeks on Wednesdays from 2pm - 7pm. Stop by and see all the new product. Now back to my card, I stamped Tilda onto Cryogen white with Memento Tuxedo black ink. Copics used:

I added Sparkly Fluff to Tilda's hat band. The horizontal border is Cheery Lynn Designs new Dancing Doily Lace Border, I cut it out of red and white and layered them. The vertical border is the new Daisy Lace Bracelet die. Then I combined three of the new Cheery Lynn Designs snowflakes up in the corner, Snowflake 2, Snowflake 7 and Snowflake 4; using pop dots between the layers. I added a silver finding and red gems and it was done. Finished size is 6" square.

Cheery Lynn Designs Holiday cards

In the new release for October from Cheery Lynn Designs are these two fabulous dies, Santa's Sleigh and Christmas Sleigh Border I have combined them with Anastasia Border to create this wonderful easel card. I created my card base using the largest of the Scallop French Flair Stackers Nesting dies, then cutting a panel with the matching Silver French Flair Stackers for the background. I embossed this with my XL Snowflake Flurries Embossing plate. Finished size is 6" square.

Here is another card made with the same dies (other than the Stackers) but I chose to add a piece of vellum behind the sleigh and color it in. Isn't that snowflake background fabulous? Sweet Stamps Challenge 37 - Lots of Layers

I began with this wonderful new Christmas Treats 6x6 paper pad from First Edition. It has some fabulous papers, glitter and non-glitter. Of course I had to use Sweet Stamps Gingerbread Boy and Girl, so perfect for this paper. I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo black ink then colored them with Copics. I also stamped Candy Swirl and Sweet Holiday Wishes with Shades Valentine ink. I cut out the candy and then mounted it on top of Snowflake 2 and Snowflake 7 die cuts using pop dots between the layers. The last step was some red Viva Decor Pearl pen accents. Finished size is 6" square.

Cheery Lynn Designs September Release

Cheery Lynn Designs is releasing some fabulous new dies today and the design team has created some amazing projects for you over on the team blog. I have two projects for you today.

I created this box using the largest Coved Rectangle Stackers Nesting dies, the XL Snowflake Flurries Embossing plate and the Anastasia Border die.

To the top I added embellishments using Snowflake 2, Snowflake 7, Geometric Snowflake and the new Pine Branches. I love snowflakes and Cheery Lynn Designs is releasing 10 new ones today and they are all fabulous. Perfect for layering and you will be seeing a lot of them in my future designs.

For my next project I used the new Lace Dragon Frame die. I have a good friend who is into Taekwondo and he loves Hershey chocolate bars. So I made a wrapper for 3 of the large bars and put this fabulous die on the front, die cutting it from metallic paper so it has lots of shimmer. I added some Pearl Pen accents and instant present.

Embossed Snowflake Card

Tickled Pink Anything Goes Challenge

Cheery Lynn Designs Halloween Basket

For my Cheery Lynn Designs project today, I decided to make a Halloween basket. Using the largest of the Scalloped Oval Stackers Nesting dies and the coordinating Oval Silver Stacker, I created my basket shape.

I added this spectacular Spider Web first then created flowers using Cherry Blossom and Judy's Blooms embellished with Fanciful Flourish. I added Anastasia Border to the handle.

The DP is from the Fancy Pants Oct 31st collection. The basket is a huge 7.25" wide and 5.5" tall. Plenty of room for lots of treats and so easy to make.

I think one way to make a spectacular clean and simple card is to use an amazing cutting and embossing folder like this one called Romantic. The card stock is a fabulous shimmery wavy patterned paper, very elegant. I added red card stock behind the cut outs. Then I stamped Sweet Stamps Simple Poinsettia with Archival Black ink. A little bit of color with my Copics, a red gem and I was done. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Our team challenge this week for Outlines Rubber Stamp is Halloween/Fall 2, because all great theme's must have a sequel. And I love making Halloween cards, lol. For my card today I used this fun stamp called Spooky Hat and guess what, it is on sale right now so stop by the store and check it out. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Cryogen paper. Copics used: BV000, BV01, YG23, YR68. I added some Peridot size 7 Swarovski Crystals to the spider web and some Sun size 9 to the hat and upper right corner. The crystals really give the card a lot of sparkle that does not show in the picture and I tell you what a breeze it is setting them in place when you use the Picksey-Pick Ups that Outlines sells. What a fabulous tool and they will last you for about forever. I did not have all the sizes needed to fill in the buckle of the hat, so I added Viva Decor Crystal Clear Glass Effect Gel for some shine and dimension. The DP is from the Fancy Pants Oct 31st collection, the ribbon is from my stash. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Hanglar Anything Goes

I made this card for the challenge over at Just Magnolia, you can use Hanglar stamps as well. The challenge is anything goes with the option of coffee and cream. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Cryogen paper. Copics used:

The fabulous border is from Cheery Lynn Designs, Anastasia Border. The roses are from I am Roses; I added a bit of airbrushing to make the match perfect. I added some leaves using my Cheery Lynn Designs Dimensional Leaves small #2. Finished size is 6" square.

I really like the simplicity of this card and yet it is very festive! The great DP is from Little Yellow Bicycle. The square stamp is from Stacy Stamps, the long one from PSX (not sure if Inkadinkado is making it now or not) Both images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Cryogen paper. Copics used:

For our last card we made a scenic ornament card. This was inspired by, Cheryl, a student from my online Christmas Scenic Stamping class at My Creative Classroom. Tickled Pink Winter challenge

I made this card for the Winter Challenge over at Tickled Pink challenge blog. I combined two great digi images, Lil Christmas Luca and Victorian Christmas Ivy. I printed them onto Cryogen paper with my inkjet printer and then colored them with Copics. I had this great paper from Me & My Big Ideas that felt very vintage to me. So I went for subtle, muted tones when coloring. I added a flower created with Cheery Lynn Designs Judy's Blooms and a Fanciful Flourish. I added Sparkly Fluff to Luca's hat and Ivy's muff and coat. This is a 5 x 7 easel card.

I decided to play with my new Cheery Lynn Designs Stacker Flower dies. There are 5 different flower dies and a matching leaf die. And to make your dies go further, you can use the new Scalloped Window Stackers dies to make nesting sizes of flowers. For tutorials on how to use these dies, visit Cheery Lynn Designs.

I made a total of 3 flowers but only used 2 on my card. I curled the edges of the flowers to give them more dimension. The paper is all from Jillibean Soup. I also used my Scallop French Flair XL Stacker die and it's matching Silver Stacker dies. The frame is the new Scandinavian Hearts. I also added some swirls using my Fanciful Flourish die. Finished size is 6" square.

Again using my fabulous 6x6 Glowing paper pad from Authentique and this fun stamp called Ghost Couple, I created an Inside/Out card. I stamped the image twice with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Cryogen paper. Copics used:

Leaves - YG61
Stems - E42
Moon - Y11
Hats - YR09, V15, V17
Buckles and stars - YR23
Ground shadow - E41
Glow around image - Y11 and blender pen

I cut out the hats and 2 of the pumpkins and mounted them on the front of the card, thus the Inside and Out. When the card is closed, the hats line up. I added black Viva Decor Pearl pen accents to the hats and leaves; gold to their necklaces. The last step was the fun sentiment, Have a Booooutiful Halloween. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Quilling Eccentric Coils

The third week of my Quilling class at My Creative Classroom has taught us how to make eccentric coils. Here is my first class project............

An eccentric coil means you pin the inner coil against one side of the circle. See how the coils spiral out? Pretty cool. I also learned to make hand looped leaves as well as husking; using a cork board, pins and a pattern. This is a fabulous class and if you are at all interested in Quilling, you should check it out.

My card base was created using my Cheery Lynn Designs Scalloped Oval Stackers die. Then I cut an oval panel using the coordinating Silver Oval Stackers die which I embossed with Cheery Lynn Designs XL Black Eyed Susans embossing plate. The last step was to add the dragonfly, also from Cheery Lynn. This will fit a 5 x 7 envelope..

Paper Quilling Grapes

Additional homework from my online Quilling lesson at My Creative Classroom this week was to make Grapes!

You make the grapes from quilled coils that you shape using a Quilling Mini Mold. Sonya Appel, my instructor, showed us how to make this beautiful tag. It measures 3.5 x 6.25 inches. The grape leaves are a punch from Punch Bunch, I added veins with an embossing tool. The sentiment is from Sweet Stamps.

My card for Cheery Lynn Designs today uses this adorable Forest Elf digi from Spesch Rubber Stamps. I started with Cheery Lynn Designs new Scandinavian Hearts die; it cuts this beautiful frame and also the wonderful medallion you see under the flower that I die cut with Judy's Blooms. I used my Victorian Romance Flourish to add the swirled flourishes. Some Viva Decor Pearl pen accents and I was done. The plaid paper is Stampin Up; the dotted is from the Basic Grey Nordic Holiday. Finished size is 6x6 inches.

I used several Cheery Lynn Designs Eccentric Circles and Dotted Swiss on the diagonal panels on the front of the card. I used my Nellie's Oval Multi Frame dies for the oval panels, adding some white Viva Decor Pearl pen accents to the scallops. I used my Spots embossing folder for the white panel behind the horse and behind the sentiment. I stamped the Carousel Horse and the Taking a Moment sentiment with Memento ink onto Cryogen paper. I colored the horse with my Copic markers. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

I started with this fabulous 6x6 Glowing paper pad from Authentique. Choosing 3 paper patterns, I stamped out E-91 Dotted Flower Lg. , D-92 Dotted Flower Med. , B-93 Dotted Flower Sm. as well as E-756 Halloween Greetings Sq. Lg. I cut each of them out and trimming just the center panels of the Greetings. I dry embossed the back side of the flowers for some curl then added black Viva Decor Pearl pen accents before them using Mounting Tape for some dimension. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Holiday Gift

I got this new 6x6 pad of paper called 25 Days of Christmas by Simple Stories; what wonderful vintage papers. So following a sketch from Challenge Up Your Life, I created this card. I used my Cheery Lynn Designs Scallop Circle Stackers and matching Silver Circle Stackers to die cut the round panel. I added the newly released Anastasia Border below the holly paper, I think it is the most elegant border.. I added some faux stitching and Viva Decor Pearl Pen accents. The digi image is from Tickled Pink. Finished size is 6" square.

Fringed Flowers

My second online Quilling lesson at My Creative Classroom was this week and we learned to make fringed flowers and scrolls and lots of fun things. Now being the anal person that I am, I don't cut the fringes by hand, I have a cool little 90 degree Fringer. Have had it for quite some time but did not know what to do with it. As you can see, I had a lot of fun. I included a ruler in the pic to give you an idea of the size of these flowers. They sit up about 3/8 - 1/2 inch high. Now on to my project.

I have wanted to use my new Cheery Lynn Designs Mega Tea Party die, it is a whopping 7 5/8" in diameter and was just the right size for the top of this cookie tin. I used my new Tiffany Border around the base of the tin and my Inverted Scallop Circle Stackers Nesting die for the dotted center panel.

Since I am making this a dog cookie tin, of course I had to use my Karen's Doodles Basset Girl, I just love this digi image. On a side note, Karen is having a blog hop to showcase her new Christmas images, check it out for a chance to win the digis. Back to my tin, I colored up the sweet basset with Copics, trimmed her out and then added my beautiful flowers in an arc. As you can see I also added some quilled leaves and scrolls. This was such a fun project and I love making these flowers. I can't wait to incorporate them into my other creations.

Christmas Scenic Stamping now at My Creative Classroom

Each week we will work with ornament templates to create wonderful Scenic Christmas ornaments suitable for mounting onto cards or as a gift tag. We will be using an assortment of stamps but I encourage you to try stamps you might already own. We will be using glossy paper, dye inks and a Colorbox Stylus tool. It is not necessary to have taken the Beginner's Scenic class, but it would certainly be beneficial as we will not get in to a lot of technique. This class is more about mixing and matching stamps to create wonderful mini-scenes.

Cheery Lynn Designs Spiderweb Window card

One of the great things about Cheery Lynn Designs dies is the ability to cut window openings in your card and make frames to edge the opening.

I began by nesting a Cheery Lynn Designs Circle Stackers die inside a Scallop Circle Stackers die to cut two orange frames for my window . Next I added this great paper from Authentique's Glowing 6x6 paper pad to my orange card base. I centered a Silver Circle Stacker and die cut my window. Using the same die, I cut an acetate panel for the window. I glued one of the scalloped circle frames onto the card front, then added Cheery Lynn Design's new Spiderweb die cut on top. I inserted the acetate panel and then added the other frame to the back side of the card front, creating the window. I die cut a couple of Bats and popped them up on the front of the card. For the inside of my card using Adobe Photoshop Elements, I combined two digi images from Make It Crafty, Eerie Scene and Mini Headless Horseman.

I added a gradient background before printing the image onto Cryogen white paper with my inkjet printer. Copics used:

Pumpkins - YR61, YR65, YR68, W1
Cape - C1, C2, C4, C5, C6
Pants and Shirt - V12, V15, V17
Boots - C5
Vines and Leaf - YG61, YG63

The checkered DP on the inside is from the same Authentique Glowing paper pack. I need to find an appropriate saying to finish off the inside of the card. Finished size is 6" square. I am entering this card into the Black and Orange challenge over at Make It Colourful.

Using my Cheery Lynn Designs Scalloped Oval Stackers Nesting dies and the coordinating Silver Oval Stackers, I created a basket. I used my Cheery Lynn Designs Diamond Scallop border die for the handle. The DP is from the Jillibean Apple Cheddar Soup 6x6 paper pad. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I have the EK Success Flower Power Paper Shapers punch that matches Sweet Stamps Fancy Flower #5 Tiny and Fancy Flower #6 Tiny. Using yellow, gold and orange cardstock, I stamped a bunch of the flowers, colored them with Copic markers and then punched them out. I die cut a Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish and then added the flowers. Lastly I added some gold Viva Decor Pearl Pen accents to the center of the flowers.

Using this great paper from the Jillibean Homemade 6 Bean Soup 6x6 pad, I created a bright and happy birthday card. I used three stamps, Happy, Birthday and Christmas Star Lg, I stamped each image twice onto Cryogen white paper and once onto green card stock. Then cut out the panels and layered them for some great dimension. I only used 2 Copics on this; RV32 and RV17. Finished size is 6" square.

Tickled Pink Challenge 37 - Rip Something

For those of you who know me, you know that when I read the challenge theme over at Tickled Pink Stamps challenge blog - Rip Something - I cringed. I am very anal and ripping paper is something very difficult for me to do. But they also said you could interpret it as R.I.P. Yeah, I love Halloween, so here is what I came up with..........

Isn't she just the cutest Mummy? This is Tickled Pink Lil Haunts Mummie Christina, I have the digi image but you can also purchase her as a red rubber stamp. I printed her onto Cryogen white paper with my inkjet printer. There is not a lot of coloring on her, Eye - B12, Hair - E25, Glasses - V25, Skin - E00, Wrap - W1 and Shadow - BV000. I did not have a tombstone so I drew this one using Corel Draw. Not too bad, I shaded it with W1 and BV000. For the moon, I used a Cheery Lynn Designs texture plate adding some shading with BV0000 and BV000. The fence, cat and bats as well as the embossing plate for the background are also from Cheery Lynn Designs. Finished size is 6" square.

Quilled Sunflowers and Cheery Lynn Designs

I played again with my Quilling supplies and decided if I turned the teardrop around, it looks like a sunflower petal so that lead to this card.............

Using my Cheery Lynn Designs Japanese Lace and Flourish Frame I die cut the frame out of brown card stock and the flourishes out of green card stock. I replaced the leaves on the flourish with my quilled leaves. I had to cut the paper strips for the leaves myself so they are not quite the same size but not bad for a first try. I added a border die cut using my Cheery Lynn Designs Eyelet Border with Piercings, threading a piece of ribbon through the border. The sentiment is from Hero Arts stamped onto a circle cut with my new Scalloped Window Stackers. Some Viva Decor Pearl pen accents and I was done. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Quilling Class at My Creative Classroom

I have always wanted to learn Quilling so I was very happy to see that My Creative Classroom is offering an online class. Our first lesson was yesterday and here is my homework.

We were to create a card and add flowers made from teardrops and leaves from marquise. The background DP is from the Basic Grey Kioshi paper pad. I used my Cheery Lynn Designs Canadian Kaleidoscope doily die along with the matching Wing Ding for the flower base. Then I added Cheery Lynn Designs Tiffany Border down the left side.

Here you can see the great dimension of the card, I popped up the doily and then the flowers were made with 1/8" quilling paper so they are raised as well. Finished size is 6" square.

Cheery Lynn Designs September Release

Today Cheery Lynn Designs is releasing their new dies for September. The design team has created some fabulous projects so be sure to stop by the team blog and check them out. I had great fun making my 2 projects today. First up is a luminary I made using the new Enchanted Flight frame, Spider web and Mediterranean Lace Rectangle Frame.

I die cut the frames, (I used the Mediterranean Lace Rectangle frame on two sides), adding vellum to the backs of each panel and coloring with my dye ink markers. Here are some shots of it without the lighted candle, just so very beautiful.

I also used the new Stacker Flowers which I just love!! You can create so many different styles of flowers especially if you use the new Scalloped Window Stackers to nest the flowers. On this card I used the new Angel Wing for the Italian Flourish Doily as well as the new Tiffany border which I think compliments the doily perfectly!

Just look at all those great layers on the flowers. I used the Scalloped Window Stackers to create each of the flowers, then dry embossed them from the backside to give them some curl. The Leaves under the flower on the card base are also part of the new Stacker Flower series. Finished size is 6" square.

Cheery Lynn Designs Twas the Night Before Christmas

For my Cheery Lynn Designs card today, I decided to make a diagonal easel card using this adorable image from Karen's Doodles called Bigsby Wreath.

I created my card base using the largest of the Scallop French Flair Stackers Nesting dies, then cutting a DP panel with the matching Silver French Flair Stackers for the inner panels. I used the same set of dies for the panels behind little Bigsby on his wreath. I added a couple of Poinsettias and then the vine accents using the Fanciful Flourish die. Because the DP on the front was so busy, I only added patterned paper on the center panel of the base. But I did add Dottie's Ric-Rac die cuts for some interest. Finished size is 6" square.

To me, the best part of Fall is Halloween. I love the holiday and love making Halloween cards. So I dug out all my Halloween stamps and created this long card. I started with this adorable Spooky Shoes rubber stamp, stamping it with Memento Tuxedo black onto Cryogen paper. I also stamped my Halloween Greetings Sq. Lg. coloring them both with Copic markers. I added some Pumpkin Smooch ink to the frame around the saying for some extra shine. The great striped paper is from the Jillibean Soup Apple Cheddar paper pad. Turning the stripes, I cut a smaller piece for the left end and stamped Web adding a couple of spider stickers from my stash. I added a spider web border below the Spooky shoes and the last step was to add accents using my Viva Decor Pearl pens as well as the new Crystal Viva Glass Effect Gel . Finished size is 4 x 9 3/8 inches, it will fit a standard business envelope.

Tickled Pink Chipboard Challenge

The challenge over at Tickled Pink Stamps is to use chipboard. I chose to use this fabulous digi image Lil Haunts Vampire Lestat.

For the background I used several digis from Make It Crafty, Halloween Haunted House and Old Oak Tree combining them in Photoshop Elements and adding a gradient background before printing it out. I used my Copics to color the background as well as Lestat. I used my Scallop Circle and Silver Circle Stacker dies from Cheery Lynn Designs to cut out the background, then created a step card for my base. I added a Cheery Lynn Designs Victorian Picket Fence and Grass Border to the center step. The sentiment is a chipboard embellishment from my stash. The great DP is from the Graphic 45 Wizard of Oz paper pad. The finished size is 6" square.

Tickled Pink is looking for Guest Designers so I am throwing my hat in the ring as I love their images, wish me luck!

Here is another card from today's class. This wonderful old mill is a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms, sadly they are no longer in business.

I stamped the mill with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Cryogen white paper. Copics used:

Bears at Night

In class today, we did a mono-chromatic night scene. The bear and water stamp is from Sutter Stamps, the rest are from Stampscapes.

We started by stamping the bears and waterfall stamp, then adding the Milky Way above it (using Marvy black ink on glossy paper) Next we added the cattails in the foreground and the branches along the top. For color we used a stipple brush and 3 shades of blue dye ink, Adirondack Lights Cloudy Blue, Earthtones Stonewashed and Earthtones Denim. The last step was to add the white highlights with a gel pen. Here is a second version without any white highlights-

Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

I had class today with my local ladies (Hi, girls) and here is one of the cards we made using stamps and a matching die cut from Our Daily Bread Designs.

I started with the Butterfly Corner, stamping with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Cryogen white paper. Copics used:
Daisy - Y11
Butterfly - YG61, R12, BV01
Shadow - C2
Next came the matching Butterfly Single stamp, which I cut out using the coordinating Butterfly die. I colored this butterfly the same as the original, popping the wings up on my card. The DP is from 7 Gypsies. I colored the ribbon to match, adding pearl accents with my Viva Decor Pearl Pen. The sentiment is from Sweet Stamps. Finished size is 5x7 inches.

Cheery Lynn Designs Friends Always

I think some of the best dies that Cheery Lynn Designs makes are their doilies. They are just so elegant, I find I don't want to cover them up, lol. For today's card, I have used the fabulous Canadian Kaleidoscope Doily.

I used my Scalloped Square XL Stackers Nesting die for the green panel mounted to the card base, then cut a piece of patterned paper using the matching Silver Square XL Stackers. Using my Circle XL Stackers Nesting die, I cut a piece of card stock to back the doily then mounted them both onto the card. For the sentiment I used my Little Stackers Inverted Scalloped Oval dies. The last step was the flower which I die cut using Judy's Blooms (my favorite flower die) and the Pair of Ferns. I added a few gem embellishments to balance the card out. The DP is from Jillibean Soup. Finished size is 6" square.

Sweet Stamps Challenge 31 - Lace

For my card I began with this beautiful Sweet Stamps Lace Border. I stamped it with white dye ink onto 36# vellum then heat embossed it with Queens Gold embossing powder. I repeated the procedure with my Sweet Stamps Poinsettia Large. I added color to the back of the vellum for the poinsettia using Memento markers. I attached the vellum to a piece of white card stock with gold brads then attached that to the red card stock base. Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches. A very quick but elegant card.

For my card, I started with my Holly Photo Frame and my Holly Strip stamping them with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Cryogen paper. I colored the Holly with YG23 and R37 and then colored the background with E50. Trimming out just the outside of the frame, I added a photo of my basset hounds, Molly and Zeke from Christmas 2003 then mounted it onto red card stock. I used this wonderful new holly patterned paper from the Christmas Eve Chowder 6x6 paper pad by Jillibean Soup as well as the striped border piece. I trimmed the edge of the Holly Strip and added it to the bottom of my card stock. For the sentiment, I used one of the inside panels of the Holly Photo Frame adding a Merry Christmas from the Posy Winter Greetings stamp set. Using Holly Sq. Lg. and stamping it twice, I trimmed out just the holly and added them to the card. The last step was to add Crystal Viva Glass Effect Gel to the holly berries for extra shine. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Cheery Lynn Designs Floral Wreath

I was inspired by a wreath done by KittieKraft to try and make my own using Cheery Lynn Designs dies. So I die cut a bunch of Fanciful Flourish and Pair of Ferns and Cherry Blossoms. I created the base for my wreath using 2 XL Circle Stackers Nesting dies, that I layered on top of each other before running them through my Vagabond. It created a perfect ring base. I also cut a bunch of dimensional leaves but decided not to use them.

To create the wreath, I glued the ferns all the way around the wreath. Next came the Cherry Blossoms, then I cut up the Fanciful Flourish and added pieces here and there. I added a bow that I colored with my Copic marker to match and some Viva Decor Pearl pen accents. The DP I used on the background and the flowers is from the SEI Corinne 6x6 paper pad. Finished size is 6" square.

I stamped Ornament Strip border and Ornament Tree onto Cryogen paper with Memento ink, coloring with my Copic markers. I stamped the tree again onto green card stock and trimmed it out. For the base behind the tree I used Geometric Tree Background. I used mounting tape to pop the tree up on the background. The last step was to add accents with my Viva Decor Pearl pens. Finished size is 6" square.
